Rules for Sellers Overview:

reFINEstyle rules and policies help to create a safe, fair and enjoyable trading environment for all Members.  As a reFINEstyle Seller, you are responsible for reviewing and understanding reFINEstyle’s selling policies and all applicable laws and regulations as outlined in the User Agreement.

Policies and guidelines for selling an item involve:

• Permissible Items ― Documents proper items to be listed.  Before you listing an item, reFINEstyle recommends reviewing the reFINEstyle’s Permissible Items policy to determine whether it is permissible to sell such item.
• Listing practices ― Documents impermissible listing actions.  Note that reFINEstyle’s listing policies also include prohibiting any practices designed or intended to circumvent reFINEstyle fees.  reFINEstyle recommends you familiarize yourself with reFINEstyle's listing policies before posting an item.
• Sale Completion ― Documents impermissible transaction practices.  For policy and examples, see also Seller Non-performance.

Violations of reFINEstyle policies may result in, among other things, one or more of the following actions:

• Listing cancellation
• Forfeiture of associated fees on cancelled listings
• Limitation of Membership account
• Limitation of Membership rights
• Membership account suspension
• Membership rights revoked

Violation of Policy Procedure:

If a policy violation occurs, reFINEstyle emails the Seller and all current bidders to inform all parties that a listing has been ended. Hence, familiarizing yourself with reFINEstyle's selling policies before list an item is critical as doing so may help to avoid any unintentional violations of reFINEstyle policies (including applicable laws).  Selling policies are frequently updated to ensure current compliance and reFINEstyle recommends that you review such policies regularly. 

For your quick reference, the following are commonly referenced policy violations: 

• Seller Non-performance – reFINEstyle Sellers must honor the Transaction Contract.  Sellers must not fail to deliver an item for which payment was accepted, misrepresent an item by not meeting the terms and item description outlined in the listing, or refuse to accept payment for an item at the end of a successful sale.
• Shill Bidding – reFINEstyle Sellers must not bid on their own item or have family members, roommates or employees bid on their item.
• Tax Policy – Sellers are responsible for paying relevant fees and taxes.
• Outside Transactions – Buyers and Sellers are not to buy or sell listed items outside of reFINEstyle.com.
