Tasha Robinson, owner of Imperfect Concepts, has been thrifting and working in retail since she was young. With how often and quickly she was going through new clothing, she found herself regretting the amount of money she was compensated for her pieces at local resale shops and decided to open her own boutique. In the future, she hopes for her online store business to grow, but to always keep the feel of a small town store that keeps things personal and always maintains customer relationships. “I know 85% of my customers now,” Tasha said, “I email back and forth with them and we will even communicate by phone. I don’t want this to ever change.”

What Tasha loves best about retail is the process of searching for the pieces. Her favorite find yet: a Dallas Milo leopard print dress. The vintage long sleeved printed mini-dress sold the same day Tasha put up an image of her wearing the piece online. She shops for resale items at Good Will, the Salvation Army, and St. Vincent DePaul. “The best time to go, is a couple of weeks after Christmas,” Tasha said, “people are cleaning out their closets and making room for new things.” She is excited about the holiday season and it’s her favorite time to style her clients in skinny jeans, lots of sparkle, leopard, and of course, ballet flats. “Sequins are always great to have in your wardrobe too and great for the holidays,” Tasha said. This season, she plans to wear a lot of red instead of black noting that when everyone’s in black, wearing an alternative bold color will help you stand out.

If Tasha could dress someone it would certainly be Carrie Underwood. “She’s so elegant,” she said, “she’s like a life-size Barbie doll!” Between styling, searching for fabulous new pieces for her website, and acting as her own PR agent, Tasha is always on the go. How does she keep her energy during the dreary winter season? “Green smoothies,” she exclaimed, “They are the absolute best!” So, if sharing her fantastic selection of designer resale items wasn’t enough, Tasha has divulged her Green Smoothie recipe as well. So, mix, sip, and shop- for one divine online shopping experience.
Tasha’s Green Smoothie:
1) handful of spinach or any green left (kale, romaine, celery, mint)

3) 1/2 teaspoon flax seed oil
4) 1 Cup of Juice (I use apple juice)
5) 2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera Juice
